TEHRAN -- Western parties to the 2015 nuclear agreement have accepted to give priority to the sanctions issue in the Vienna talks, Iranian top negotiator said on Tuesday.

"Addressing the situation of the iniquitous and illegal sanctions must be the first priority issue in the agenda of the Joint Commission, and this was agreed at this meeting," Ali Bagheri Kani said in remarks to Iran's state TV, regarding the first day of the renewed negotiations in Austria's capital. ISTANBUL -- Strong windstorms have killed at least six people and injured more than 50 others in Turkey's northwestern region since Monday, according to local media.

The NTV, a Turkish TV news channel, said on Tuesday that four people died and 46 more were injured in Istanbul, Turkey's largest city with a population of over 16 million people. Bad weather killed two more people and injured several more in the northern provinces of Kocaeli and Zonguldak, according to the report. (Turkey-Windstorm-Istanbul)

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced Tuesday the final results of the parliamentary elections that took place on Oct. 10, with no significant changes in the number of seats obtained by the competing political parties.

According to the final results, the Sadrist Movement appeared in the lead with 73 seats, the Sunni alliance known as Taqaddum, or progress, headed by outgoing parliament speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi, came in the second place with 37 seats. (Iraq-Snap Elections-Results)

AMMAN -- The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on Tuesday called for more aid to maintain its role in the Middle East.

In a press conference in Jordan's capital of Amman, UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said that the agency is at "a very dangerous junction" as its funds are declining. (Jordan-UNRWA-Aid-Palestinian Refugees)
