JERUSALEM -- The Israeli Ministry of Health on Saturday confirmed the country's first monkeypox case after the viral disease has recently been detected across North America and Europe.

A man in his 30s returning from western Europe, who visited Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv with suspicious lesions of the virus and identified by the ministry as Israel's first suspected case of monkeypox was proved to have contracted the disease, according to a ministry statement. BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Ministry of Health said on Saturday that up to 90 cases of viral hemorrhagic fever (VHF) have been registered in Iraq, including 18 deaths.

LAGOS -- At least one person lost his life and another was injured on Saturday after a two-story building collapsed in Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub.

OUAGADOUGOU -- At least 30 terrorists were killed in an attack on Saturday morning against a military detachment in north-central Burkina Faso, said the army in a statement.
