TEHRAN -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi reiterated on Sunday that the foreign presence in the region not only fails to help resolve any issue but also causes problems.

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi met here on Sunday to discuss bilateral ties and cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

TEHRAN -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said Sunday that the measures taken by the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) during their occupation of Afghanistan have led to increased cultivation of narcotic plants in the war-torn country.

Making the remarks in an address to a ceremony to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Raisi said during the U.S.-NATO two-decade presence, narcotics production in Afghanistan became industrialized and the output was distributed across the globe. CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi met on Sunday with visiting Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss bilateral ties and regional security.

The Egyptian president expressed appreciation of the UAE support for Egypt on several critical occasions, highlighting the unique ties and "close coordination" between the two countries, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady in a statement. (Egypt-UAE FM-Visit)
