ADEN, Yemen -- An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated during a Yemeni military patrol in the turbulent southern province of Abyan, killing at least five soldiers, a security official told Xinhua on Monday.
The local security official said on condition of anonymity that the attack took place on Sunday night in the Mudiyah district of Abyan, when an IED planted on the side of a road was triggered by a passing military vehicle. (Yemen-Explosion-Soldiers Killed)

ISLAMABAD -- The death toll from the cylinder explosion that took place in Pakistan's southern Sukkur district on Saturday rose to eight after five injured died on Monday, hospital officials said.
A spokesperson of the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences hospital of Sukkur in southern Sindh province said that five critically injured people died during the treatment at the intensive care unit of the hospital. (Pakistan-Sukkur-Blast)

BAGHDAD -- An Iraqi military helicopter crashed on Monday in the eastern province of Wasit due to a technical problem, wounding two crew members, the defense ministry said.
