Iraqi Parliament elects Nizar Amedi as President

BAGHDAD, 11th April, 2026 (WAM) -- The Iraqi Council of Representatives today elected Nizar Amedi as the new President of Iraq.

Amedi secured the post after winning a majority of votes during a parliamentary session convened for the presidential election.
